I think it may be. All the reports that I am reading has Thome ending up in Minnisota, but, then again, all the reports I read in July had Cliff Lee as a Yankee. I believe that in the next day or two Thome will wind up a Twin again, but do not count the Rangers out. They seem to be more likely to pursue someone that they really want. He would be a fantastic backup plan to Mitch Moreland, and he would help give guys with injury trouble like Adrian Beltre, Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz more days off by letting Michael Young play more in the field at 1st base. And there is always the possibility that someone gets hurt and misses some significant time, making Young an everyday fielder again and Thome the everyday DH. I am warming up to the idea, but I just think there are too many maybes for Thome to want to be a Ranger. I also think that he likes being a Minnesota Twin. I guess we will wait and see what happens, check back often for Ranger news.
