The Rangers are well on their way to making the post season, I think that is evident at this point of the season. So, I think it is time to look at the post season starting pitching and lineup that the Rangers will run out there.
First of all, I think that the Rangers will be playing the Yankees first, unless Detroit really slows down. So round 1 will be Boston/Tampa Bay vs Detroit and Texas vs NY. Here is who I would run out if I was Ron Washington or his mustache.
Starting Pitching:
1. C.J. Wilson – he has been the ace of the staff and he deserves to be the opening day starter in the post season. That is a no brainer in my mind.
2. Matt Harrison – Colby Lewis, in my humble opinion, pitched his way out of the post season staring roster last night by giving up 6 runs against Seattle. That being said, Matt pitched his way into it today. I know that he is un-tested in post season play, but the way he has pitched the ball this season, I think he deserves the chance.
3. Derek Holland – That is right, the dutch-stache has earned the spot hands down in my opinion. Derek has had the type of season the Rangers have hoped he would have since his first call up two seasons ago. He is going to be one of the post season starters. No doubt in my mind.
The 4th starter if needed will go to either Scott Feldman or Colby Lewis. Colby was basically the post season MVP (most valuable pitcher) in 2010, but he is way too hr prone to face off against the Yankees in the first round of the post season this season.
Fielding:
C – Yourvit Torrealba
1st – Mitch Moreland/Michael Young
2nd – Ian Kinsler
SS – Elvis Andrus
3rd – Adrian Beltre
LF – David Murphy
CF – Josh Hamilton
RF – Nelson Cruz
DH – Mike Napoli/Michael Young
Bull Pen
Feldman, Lewis, Uehara, Lowe, Oliver, Ogando, Adams, Feliz
That is who I would guess the Rangers will run out there for the Yankee Series. Disagree? Want to argue? Let me know!!
