The Rangers took care of the Rays in game two of the series on Saturday, but it was not as pretty as I would have hoped or as I predicted. The Rangers bats showed up and put up an 8 spot against the Rays. Lets now look ahead to game 3 in the series.
The Rangers have never lost in Tropicana Field in the postseason, with a record of 3-0 against the Rays in the post season at their place. That being said, this is proving time for Colby Lewis, who did not have exactly the best season. He lead the league in giving up homeruns, and he was nothing like the Colby we saw pitch for the Rangers in the 2010 season. The real question is now, will he turn into the pitcher we say in the post season in 2010, being the Rangers hottest pitcher in the ALCS and the World Series. Lewis thinks he can. “If you keep your mentality and your approach the same, I felt like I just wanted to repeat kind of like having quality starts and keeping my team in the game,” Lewis said. “I think that’s what’s key to any start.” Lewis has a chance to put the Rangers up 2-1 tonight in the series, and I think he will. The Rangers offense is going up against David Price tonight, who is no slouch. He had an ERA of 3.49 this season. He is known as one of the Rays best pitchers, but I think the Rangers can get to him. They go into this game with confidence as an offensive squad and with a pither that they trust. I look for the Rangers to take a 2-1 lead in the series tonight.
