The Rangers, as previously stated, had a bad game last night. If the Rangers are good at one thing, it is putting bad games behind them. The Rangers have not lost back to back games since early September. And they have Derek Holland going tonight, for whom they average over 7 runs a game in run support for. In the post season, Holland is 1-0 with a 5.27 ERA, and Jackson is 1-0 with a 5.84 ERA. The Rangers need to score on Jackson, and score fast. Holland has not been his best in this post season, only Colby Lewis has been to be honest. I know you cannot over state it, but this is a must win for the Texas Rangers. lose here, and the odds of comming back and winning the Series are about 100-1. What do I think will happen?
1. The Rangers will hit well. I see the Rangers scoring 7-9 runs again in this one, but scoring 5-6 runs in the first 4 innings. If the Rangers can get going fast here in Arlington, it will put the pressure on St. Louis to try just a little harder.
2. Better defense. If the Rangers play like they did last night, they probably won’t win. I don’t see them doing that.
3. Derek will be sharp early. I can see Derek being really focused early on in the game. He has to keep up that same intensity for the whole game and he has to go at least 6 innings. The pen is getting tired, and I am not sure how much more they can carry this team to victory.
