Former closing great and all around great guy is now a member of the two time American League Champion Texas Rangers. Nathan said he thought Texas was a good fit for him and his family. He also said the fact that the Rangers have gone to back to back World Series helped him to make his decision. He signed with the Rangers for less money than he was offered elsewhere. This news means two things. 1 is a fact, and the other is my guess.
1. Neftali Feliz will be a starter. The Rangers have already announced this one. Nefti said he is already preparing for his new role as a starter. The Rangers and some Rangers fans remember that Nefti was a front line starting prospect in the minors, and it is time to see if he can do the same in the majors. My guess, with the roster that the Rangers have right now, the rotation coming out of spring training will be:
1. Colby Lewis
2. Derek Holland
3. Alexi Ogando/Scott Feldman
4. Neftali Feliz
5. Matt Harrison
Just my guess.
2. The Rangers feel they cannot resign C.J. Wilson. This is purely speculation, but I think that is the main reason that the Rangers moved Feliz into the rotation. They still may make moves, and probably will before the season starts in the spring, but I do not think CJ will be a part of the club going forward.
