By all accounts I am seeing, C. J. Wilson is expected to sign with the Angels today, possibly as soon as this morning. C.J. will not endear himself to Rangers fans at all if he signs with the Angels. To go to a division rival is never a good idea if you do not want to be hated by your old fan base, but I am not sure that he really cares about that. To be honest, I am kind of glad to know that he is going, even though he has been a really good pitcher for the Rangers, eating up innings and winning 31 games in the past two years. The Rangers have to find a to replace those 31 wins, and I think with what they have they can get close. Also, in other news, Yu Darvish is expected to post today. I think the Rangers are very interested in buying the rights to try and sign him, but Evan Grant is reporting this morning that he does not think so. The Rangers are not the only team interested in buying the rights, but I think they are very intent on getting him. He would be, supposedly, the Rangers number 1 starter if they could land him. They have a long way to go to sign him, but I think management is prepared to do what ever it takes to try and land him. All we as Rangers fans can hope is that C.J. gets to watch the post season from his California home and think that maybe he made a mistake. I think the Rangers are shaping up to be good enough with out him, and I hope I am right.
