Robbie Ross is having a good spring. Michael Kirkman is not. Ross came into the game Sunday and pitched 2 scorless innings, Kirkman came in and gave up 4 runs in two innings of work to the Angels. Washington said of Kirkman: “Today, he wasn’t very good, he left too many balls up.” The Rangers still need a left handed reliever. The rest of the pen appears to be set with Feldman, Ogando, Uehara, Lowe, Adams and Nathan. The last spot could either go to Ross, Kirkman, or Tateyama (according to www.texasrangers.com). Ross has impressed this spring so far, even though he has only pitched 6 games at the double A level. “I’m just enjoying this,” Ross said. “I came in here not expecting anything. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen. If it does, it will be an unbelievable thing.” I think Robbie is probably going to make the team out of spring training, and I have a feeling that he will be up and down at first, but I am willing to take that chance to see what this kid is made of!
