Harrison, Ross and the Long Ball

I was fortunate enough to go to last nights game, and I am so glad I did. From watching Robbie Ross walk across the field with his pink backpack on to Matt Harrison being dominate to Adrian, Josh and Murphy jacking some balls out of the park, it was a very enjoyable game. I also got in to a game long twitter conversation with @TrueRangersFan, a huge Texas Rangers fan and a soldier, that I very much enjoyed. Social media has made it easy and fun to connect with people with the same interests, even sitting in the same building watching the same game, and I thank him for that and for his service to our country.

The debut of Robbie Ross looked bad for a minute when he walked the first batter on 5 pitches, but he got his grove after that and he is an impressive left hander to watch. I am really looking forward to seeing him pitch all season and seeing what he will be able to do. He has a chance to be very dominate and maybe be the next bull pen guy to move into the rotation down the road. David Murphy, who has had some defensive struggles so far this season, has not really been struggling much offensively this season so far (.556 batting average, 1.111 slugging percentage). I said before the game that  I thought this would be Beltre’s night to go off, and I was right! Beltre hit the a two run home run, and then Josh capped it off with a mammoth home run late in the ball game.

I would like to go back tonight to see the debut of Yu Darvish, but that is not possible for me (it is no problem for Nathan Hague though). I will have lots to say after Yu starts tonight I am sure!
