Oh no, the Yankees Randy Levine is upset with Chuck Greenburg for some things he said about Cliff Lee winding up in Philly. As a Texas Rangers fan, I am really glad to know that even in mid January, the Rangers are on the NY Yankees radar. Even though they will not admit it, they are embarrass that they lost the ALCS in the fashion that they did (completely dominated by the Rangers) and they are a little frightened that it can happen to them again. It also means that the Rangers are under the Yankees skin. Remember earlier in the off season when the Yankees were mad because they thought the Rangers were going after Andy Pettite? Oh yeah, Yankees, better watch out for the Rangers, it is not you mom’s (or Tom Hicks) Ranger team anymore.
Speaking of Yankees or ex-Yankees, Lance Berkman did some trash talking of his own against the Texas Rangers saying they will be mediocre at best in 2011. Berkman, a long time Houston Astro, who have been dominated by the Rangers over the last few seasons, seems to be a jealous kid who didn’t get picked on the “A” team so he tries to trash talk them to all of his friends. I think that it is funny that Berkman felt he needed to say something about the Rangers, and I think that it is funnier that C.J. Wilson asked Ranger fans to boo Berkman if he ever plays a game in Arlington again. C.J. is right, we should boo him if he comes to town. And he may, he will probably be traded again during the 2011 season.
The Rangers are discussing (or at least Twitter is all abuzz, follow me @therangerreport) that Feliz may be moving to the rotation. I don’t see that happening this season, but I do see it as a possibility in the future. Feliz has great stuff, and he is a great pitcher. I think that the Rangers want to keep him as the closer at the moment, because I think they have the rotation set already with Wilson, Lewis, Hunter, Webb, and either Holland or Kirkman. There are also others I have discussed in earlier pieces but I think these will be you legit candidates going into spring training. Just my thoughts on the subject. What do you think?
