The rumors every year have Michael Young not being a Ranger anymore. This time, it could actually be true. According to T. R. Sullivan, the Rangers and Phillies are getting close on a deal that would send Michael to the city of brotherly love. In return the Rangers would get some pitching and eat a bunch of Young’s salary. Mike would have to waive his no trade clause for this to happen, and only he knows if he would do that or not. I would love for Young to be a Ranger forever, but we all know that was never going to happen. Doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it if he goes though.
Josh Hamilton’s agent has been talking to the Mariners a lot lately, and they and the Rangers are now the front runner to land the services of the 5 time all star. I would like to see Josh back with this team, and I am more confident now than I have been in a long time that there is a chance of that happening. Of course there is always a mystery team involved that seems to sweep the player up last minute, so we will have to wait and see what happens.
The Rangers are still interested in both Zack Greinke and R. A. Dickey and I would not be surprised to see the Rangers get a deal done with one of those two guys. I do not see a deal getting done with both of them. Stay tuned here for more later.
Hi Ben, Thanks for the update! I enjoy reading it.
