To the man who has it all, Mr. Nolan Ryan, and a man that if you look back at his stats, you relieze that almost none of what he accomplished will ever be repeated again, Happy Birthday. Nolan Ryan has inspired and turned around a franchise that was stagnating under the ownership of Tom Hicks, and got them to their first World Series in 2010. Nolan is a baseball man, through and through, and I hate to think what would have happened if Mark Cuban, no offense meant, would have won the bidding war. So I thought I would take a minuet this morning and look at some of Nolan Ryan’s many accomplishments on the field to inspire all of us Ranger fans as to what to expect him to bring to the orgainzation.
Wins. Ryan has 324 of them, which ranks him 14th of all time, 5714 strike outs (that record will never be broken). If you were wondering, and I know you were, Randy Johnson is second on the list and he is almost 1000 behind Nolan. He had 222 complete games. So happy birthday to the best team president ever, may 2011 bring Nolan a World Series Championship!
