The Rangers made a move over the weekend to make Jon Daniels the president of baseball operations, and Rick George was promoted to the head of business operations, but that Nolan is still the CEO. It is being reported that these move were actually made back in November. I am not sure how to take this news yet, as the loss of Nolan Ryan would be a devastating blow to a team that had a really bad off-season already. Nolan is not only a Texas legend, but he is loved by Rangers fans everywhere and I know another team that would love to snag him up if he leaves the fold of the Texas Rangers. The Houston Astros. Nolan has been the best thing that could happen to the Rangers young pitching staff, and I think that it would be a huge mistake for the team to let Nolan walk away. The only way it would be different is if Nolan wants to retire and not work in baseball anymore. I hope that is not the case.
So, the short answer is, I am not sue if he is out or not, but just the reports that he may be made me very nervous about a Rangers season that I am already a little nervous about. Lets all hope that Nolan will still be a Ranger this time next season.
