As I lay here in my hospital bed I can’t help but think about baseball. I can’t help but be excited about the long term extension that the Rangers were able to give the young phenom shortstop Elvis Andrus, I can’t hep but be excited about the way Yu Darvish pitched against the Astros this past week, and I really can’t help but get psyched about the Rangers/ Angels series starting today in Arlington.
Probably one of the most potent (on paper) offensives in baseball in a long time comes to Arlington tonight to square off against one of the Rangers ( in my opinion) best pitching staffs. I know we are not sure which Derek Holland we will see tonight, but I am confident he will bring his a game tonight. I am also confident that Matt Harrison will be just fine. I just wish I could be at that ballpark tonight among fifty- two thousand of my closest friends cheering on the Rangers. But I will not be. My back doctor seems to think I need rehab and stuff, what does he know?
Yes, as I lay here two things I am grateful for are doctors and nurses to take care of us when we are down and sports to help take our minds off of our pain for a little bit every night. Thank you all for all of the thoughts and prayers you have sent my way while I recover from back surgery, it means a lot to me and my family. And lets watch the Rangers have a blast reminding the Angels who is still the better overall ball club!
