So, A.J. Pierzynski has been dealing with a strained oblique for several seasons, and it is acting up, according to reports. He is out of the lineup tonight (and possibly tomorrow) against his former team. It is apparently not a big deal, but the Rangers don’t want to take any chances.
Reliever Joe Ortiz is Joe no more. He has asked, effective immediately, to now be called Joseph. Okay. We will now call you Joseph in our articles and in our tweets. (Disclaimer: I will forget and call you Joe at least a dozen more times before I get it completely corrected).
Some minor issues: Mike Olt is having some vision problems. Maybe Josh’s eye problem from last season is contagious. Anyway, Mike, according to reports, is in Arlington today getting checked out by some doctors. Olt is batting .139 at Round Rock, so it is good to hear that there may be an actual problem that is causing his bad start. Well, good and bad. He is one of the top prospects and we hope he recovers fast.
Randy Wells has decided to retire. See ya.
Cody Buckel is having problems. He can’t throw a strike. He has been moved to the bull pen for the time being at Frisco, but the Rangers may need to move him to extended spring training if he can’t figure it out. Lets all hope he can.
The Rangers have Yu Darvish going tonight against the White Sox, to read my article on it please go here.
