Well There You Go

Last night the Rangers took it to the Tigers, which is to be expected sometimes, unless of course Justin Verlander is on the mound for the Tigers. Tho say neither ace was sharp (Verlander had a 27.00 ERA last night, and Darvish had a 4.50 ERA) would be an understatement, but Verlander had a very bad night.

The Rangers took advantage of tat bad night by plating 7 runs against Verlander in the third inning alone, making my ace vs ace prediction here look silly. The thing to take away from a game like last nights is that the Rangers were able to make a struggling opposing pitcher pay for his mistakes, something this offense has not been the best at so far. I was excited to see them do so well, and as everyone keeps reminding is, the Rangers are doing all of this without Josh Hamilton, Mike Napoli, Michael Young, and now also without A.J. Pierzynski. Yu settled down and threw 130 pitches last night, which I am still not sure why Ron Washington allowed him to stay in the game so long. The Rangers cannot afford another pitcher on the DL. Luck only goes so far before you are doing what is commonly referred as “pushing it”.

The Rangers and Detroit continue their series tonight and I have no idea what is going to happen, because as last night showed all of us baseball people again last night, you just can’t predict baseball!
