The Rangers took it to a pitcher who was having a pretty good season so far, especially Elvis Andrus. Elvis went five for five in last nights contest with a double and a triple. He couldn’t get the home run to complete the cycle, but I would still call that a good night.
David Murphy, whom I am a fan of for the record, has for to start adjusting at the plate. He has been doing a little better of late, finally getting his average over .200, but an 0-4 in the number two spot is not what the Rangers need from him. With the type of season Jeff Baker is having off the bench, it is only a matter of time before even Ron Washington’s patience runs out.
Tonight the Rangers send Derek Holland to the mound to face off against a potent Tigers offense that the Rangers have managed to keep down for the most part this series. We are all hanging out hopes on this being good Derek tonight, the Derek that can shut down any offense with his stuff as long as he stays focuses and keeps the ball down. His offense has showed that it can hit good Tigers pitching on Thursday and Saturday, and hopefully they will be able to give the Dutch Oven some run support tonight. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball. If the Rangers win again they will keep the best record in all of baseball in their court. I have faith that the Rangers can do it. I really hope I am right.
