In case you didn’t see it, the game had some weird moments in it last night. The Rangers wound up beating Saunders last night, and it is the first time he has lost in the Kingdom. The bats came alive for the Rangers including home-runs from Jeff Baker and Lance Berkman, as the Rangers scored 9 runs total.
The strangest moment of the game came when the Rangers were trying to turn a double play early on in the game. Justin Grimm interrupted the play. See it here (aka @DShep25 on Twitter). Grimm seemed to have very little command of his pitches but the defense was fairly good behind him and they gave him a good bit of run support. Grimm is going to have to get better if he wants to stay at the major league level. He has got to start controlling those pitches better. If he pitches like that against the Yankees or Angels, it would have been a very short outing for him.
Tonight the Rangers send Derek Holland to the bump to face off against King Felix. Should be a fun one to watch. Game starts at 9:05 central time.
