The Rangers may have been totally blow out two nights ago, but in the record books that just goes down as a simple loss. Doesn’t matter what the score was. Last night the Ranger won a close game, and once again pitching was good. Alexi Ogando looked good in his first start back from the the DL, and the pen was great once again anchored by Joe Nathan’s 1-2-3 ninth.
Bad news out of last nights game though. Mitch Moreland has gone on the 15 day disabled list with hamstring problems. That means that Jeff Baker and Lance Berkman will be manning first base for the next two weeks or so. Mitch was having a great turn around to his season and it is a shame for him and the Rangers. Hopefully Mitch can get back soon.
The Rangers are still holding on to first place in the West, but only by the smallest of margins over Oakland. Hopefully they can take the series tonight and move on to Toronto for their first series with the jays this season.
