The Rangers offense looked the same as always through the first few innings of Friday nights game against the Cleveland Indians. But then something happened, something that surprised a large amount of Rangers fans: they clawed and scratched their way back into a game where they had 3 errors, 3 passed balls and were losing 7-1.
The Rangers tied the game in the eighth inning on an Ian Kinsler two run single, after fighting back from the 7-1 deficit. It was great to see some signs of life out of an offense that showed none on their most recent home stand. I am really hoping that this game will be considered a key game in the Rangers turn around from offensive ineptitude to a team that could get the job done. The thing that impressed me the most was how embarrassingly bad they looked in the first half of the game compares to how good they looked late in the game. Pitching was great behind the struggling Perez.
And then, to completely knock the wind out of our sails, Wash decided to leave Jason Frasor in for his third inning, and the Indians walked it off with a three run shot. Still a great effort by the offense and one that I hope gets duplicated often. Although the game ended the way it did, I am hopeful that our offense is getting back on track. Hope we get them tomorrow!
