The Rangers have a stretch of baseball coming up where they are playing the bottom feeders of Major League Baseball. They have the Angels, who lost to the A’s in laughably bad fashion today, the Athletics, the only exception over the next four weeks, one game against the d-backs, the Astros, Milwaukee, the Mariners, Houston, the Angels again, White Sox, more Seattle, well you get the point.
Yes, the Rangers look extremely bad at the plate right now, but with the teams they are going to face over the next four weeks, they have a real chance to get right back in this thing in the West. I am not saying I think they will, but nothing at this point of the season would surprise me at all. The Athletics have to go through a slump at some point this season, of they don’t they will be one if the first teams in a long while not to, and that would also mean that there is not much the Rangers can do to catch them.
This Rangers team is talented, it’s pitching is well above average, it’s defense is above average on most nights, but the offense is terrible. They have not scored a run since Friday night. One game could turn the whole season around, one game could jump start this team into the win column, and I for one hope that one game scones sooner rather than later, cause I will admit, it is hard to watch this team right now.
