Thanks to Soto, Martin and Beltre, the Rangers swept the Angels in historic walk off fashion. They are the first team in a long while to just have back to back to back walk offs, and it had even been longer since a series was swept that way.
The Rangers went from six games out of first to four games out of first. If they can defeat the Diamondbacks tonight (hopefully not in walk off fashion) then they will be 3.5 games out with a three game series with the first place Athletics looming over the weekend. Yes, Rangers baseball has become exciting to watch again. I still had faith that this was a playoff team, even before the Angels series, now I am back to believing that they can win redivision again.
So, this weekend is going to be epic, one way or the other. Either the Rangers make it much more exciting for the last two months of the season, or the A’s go right back to the big lead they were enjoying before. I am hoping for more Ranger magic this weekend, and I sure hope I am right.
