Martin Perez has been with the Rangers for a while now, but he really made himself known on Sunday with his first complete game on Sunday. I know it was against the lowly Astros, or Lastros as a Houston native friend of mine likes to call them, but neither Matt Garza or Derek Holland were able to do it.
Perez has been called a great prospect and a future star, and I believe you can take future off of that now. Perez has been very solid this season, and Sunday he showed he is ready to be a major league starter. The Rangers are now a season high 18 games over .500, and hold first place by themselves. They have also won seven games in a row.
They have one more game against the Astros before heading home to play the Brewers for two. This has been a very enjoyable stretch of Rangers baseball, and I hope that it continues!
