The Rangers completed the seven game sweep of the home stand required to make it to the play in game tonight. I for one did not expect them to win all seven, but here we are. The sweep of the Angels was pretty cool in my book, and I am extremely happy that there is Rangers baseball to watch tonight.
This game is for the right to play in the Wild Card game on Wednesday in Cleveland, and I really hope that Martin Perez can rise to the occasion and defeat David Price, a player the Rangers have handled in the past. Of course, as we all know, that really doesn’t mean much in the long run, they still have to play and win the game. Nelson Cruz is eligible to play in tonight’s game as well, and my guess would be that Ron will use him as the DH.
The Rangers showed me something that I didn’t expect these last seven days. Passion and a desire to win. I was one of the people who was crying from the rooftops that this team was done just a short eight days ago, and I have never been more happy to be wrong. Lets hope my wrongness continues into Wednesday.
