The Texas Rangers Alphabet

Starfall_ABCsI have kids at the house and I used to read them a bunch of books that tried to teach them the alphabet by using animals or things that started with the letter. I thought it would be fun because it’s Friday to look at the Texas Rangers alphabet, sorry, no illustrations.

A is for Alex Rios, the Rangers right fielder and hopefully stealing machine in 2014.

B is for Adrian Beltre, the Rangers third baseman and my personal man crush. Oh, and he has been the Rangers player of the year for two straight seasons.

C is for Neal Cotts, the Rangers reliever who rediscovered himself during the 2013 season and had a great season for the Texas Rangers.

D is for Derek Holland, also known as the Dutch Oven, the Rangers pitcher who is going to have a great 2014.

E is for Elvis Andrus, the Rangers all-star shortstop and all around good guy, who is amazing on the field.

F is for the Prince, Prince Fielder. Fielder is now the Rangers first baseman, and I feel like he is really going to enjoy that short right field triangle this for the foreseeable future.

G is for Geovany Soto, the Rangers everyday catcher who needs to reward the Rangers for making him so.

H is for Matt Harrison, Harry needs to be healthy and have a ten to twelve win season.

I is for J.P. Arencibia, the Rangers backup catcher who could wind up being the starting catcher depending on how Soto does.

J is for the rookie phenom Jurickson Profar, the Rangers new everyday second baseman and young superstar. Lets go Jurickson.

K is for Michael Kirkman, who better prove why he is still a part of this organization this season.

L is for Adam Rosalas, the Rangers utility man, hope he is a good one this next season.

M is for Mitch Moreland, the Rangers DH for 2014. I have a feeling he will get a couple shots at first base.

N is for the next Rangers closer, Neftali Feliz. Let’s see if he can get back to his former glory days as a closer. I think he can.

O is for Alexi Ogando, hopefully the Rangers long man in the bull pen, but most likely the fifth starter. He is a good pitcher if he can stay healthy.

P is for Martin Perez, who should have a good year building off of what he did last season. I look forward to watching him pitch.

Q is for the quality of play the Rangers have had over the past few seasons. I have really enjoyed watching them.

R is for Robbie Ross, the Rangers minor league starter turned major league reliever who is trying out to go back to a starter. Best of luck Robbie!

S is for Shin-Soo Choo, the Rangers newly acquired left fielder. Choo will make a difference on the base paths and I think in the field as well. He is going to be fun to watch as the lead off guy.

T is for Tanner Scheppers, one of the Rangers set up guys. Young and now experienced, he should just continue to get better with age.

U is for Joakim Soria, who will be Used frequently out of the pen and will be a great reliever for the Rangers in 2014. (give me a break, some of these are hard!).

V is for all of the victories that Leonys Martin will help the Rangers achieve this season. He is a vacuum in center field and will continue to improve at the plate.

W is for Matt West, who I am not sure will make the pen, but his name starts with a W and he is in the Rangers organization, so it counts.

X is for the excellent choice the Rangers made when they re-signed Jason Frasor to another deal. I really like the way Jason pitched last season and hope that continues this season.

Y is for Yu Darvish, of course. I pretty much wrote this whole thing just because I knew I would have a Y. Darvish doesn’t need a whole lot of explination. We all know how great he is and how great he will continue to be.

Z is for the zillion of fans that will come out and cheer on the Texas Rangers in 2014! I can’t wait for baseball season!!
