Alexi Ogando was a great reliever. Then, he was a great starter. Then he was a great reliever. Then, he was a great starter who got injured. Then… well, you get the picture. If Alexi can stay healthy, he will be a force to be reckoned with in 2014 season for the Rangers. We all know that he can pitch, and we all know that he can pitch well, but can he stay healthy?
Alexi had a very respectable 3.11 ERA in 2013, but he only started 18 games. He needs to do better this season, especially with Derek Holland being out for most of the season with his knee injury. Alexi needs to be a very consistent in 2014 in my opinion. He will be a very important key in the rotation with Matt Harrison being untested since his back surgery and not knowing who the fifth starter is going to be. Alexi struck out 72 in 2013, that is not too bad for 18 starts (23 games).
If Ogando has a great season, the Rangers rotation is on the way to being really good at this point. It really all hinges on the next guy on my list, Matt Harrison.
