The Texas Rangers completed their sweep of the Oakland Athletics yesterday with a fantastic performance by Martin Perez, tossing his second straight three hit shutout. The offense did just enough against Sonny Gray to secure the victory for Perez, now making him 4-0 on the season. Perez is starting to be in the ace discussion if you ask me. The Texas Rangers have now won eight of their last nine games, and they have done all of this without Adrian Beltre and the last two without Beltre’s backup Kevin Kouzmanoff. They are on a pretty impressive run for a team that looked like they may be in some serious trouble just a few short weeks ago when they could only squeeze out one run twice against the Astros in three games.
The Texas Rangers head to Seattle for a little relaxing today before starting a three game set with the Mariners tomorrow, and then the A’s again in Arlington. It is a good chance to separate themselves in the division a little bit and continue to sport the best record in the American League.
