The Texas Rangers have been getting behind almost every game so far in 2014 it seems, even though I know that isn’t exactly true. Some they come back and win, and some, like last evening in Anaheim, they do not. The texas Rangers offense, especially Prince Fielder, Elvis Andrus and J.P. Arencibia have been aweful, and Alex Rios and Leonys Martin have not been much better. The pitching has been hanging in there, and that is the best I can say about that.
Today, however, the Texas Rangers have a chance to win another series by defeating the Angels. With Yu Darvish on the hill for the Texas Rangers, this is a game that the Texas Rangers really have to win. They can’t let Yu Darvish lose again 1-0. According to Jeff Wilson of the Star Telegram, the Texas Rangers have moved Elvis Andrus to 8th in the line up today, and after the performance (or lack there of) yesterday, I can’t say I blame Wash. They need players at the top of the order right now who can get on base and make things happen, and Andrus just isn’t that guy right now. Adrian Beltre is another player who is struggling at the plate, as he has yet to hit a homer this season.
Obviously, it’s not the end of the world if the Texas Rangers lose the series to the Angels, nut it is a very winnable series and they just have to win when the ace is on the hill. The Texas Rangers are still in good position in the American League, but that can change quickly if they continue to lose series.
