Globe Life Park at Arlington

MLB: New York Yankees at Texas RangersSo who among us is not used to saying Globe Life Park at Arlington instead of Rangers Ballpark at Arlington? Even more important, who likes saying it? I know that I am not a big fan of saying Globe Life Park at Arlington, but I am used to it. And apparently the Texas Rangers are not really big fans of it either. The Texas Rangers are having one of their worst seasons in the last 5 years or so in the newly named ballpark.

Could the new ballpark name be the reason that the Texas Rangers are having such a bad year so far? Baseball players are all known for being superstitious, so maybe it has something to do with it. It could also be the curse of Nolan Ryan or Ian Kinsler. I tend to doubt it, but it is fun to talk about. I personally don’t think I believe in curses, but I do find that I am starting to believe more in them since Nolan and Ian left and the injuries began raining down on the Texas Rangers. It seems strange to me that this is happening to them right after they let Ryan go and traded Ian Kinsler.

I would rather blame the ballpark name, because I really don’t like it. I think the Ballpark at Arlington was a great name, but I also understand the way that the world works now a days, and if anyone wants to pay me a million dollars to rename this website, I am open to it. I may complain a little about it, but I am open to it for sure.

The season is not over yet in Globe Life Park at Arlington, but it is over a fourth of the way through and it has been a tough one to watch day in and day out. I have faith that the season is going to get better, and I really hope that I am correct in my optimism. The point is, ballpark names and displaced legends do not make or break a team, a team does that. And the Texas Rangers have a lot of work to do to remake themselves into a winning team again. Lets all hope that they can do it.
