Saturday I did something that I don’t get to do that often; I covered a Round Rock Express game. As I sat there in the press box high above Dell Diamond field watching batting practice, covering the Jackie Moore ceremony, and watching the game I was reminded of what a great job this is. I love baseball and the atmosphere here at AAA ball is always fun.
Being on the same field as Nolan Ryan was quite an amazing thing for a guy like me, a guy who broke into this business on the internet. I don’t work for a major publication, but I still got accepted and I would like to thank the great staff for the Round Rock Express letting me take part in the festivities.
The Jackie Moore ceremony was great, I have the audio and pictures from it that will air on the next Ranger Report Podcast. I got to sit in on an on the field press conference with both Nolan Ryan, Reed Ryan and Jackie Moore. I interviewed Brett Nicholas, which I will be writing about on Nolan Writin later this week and airing the entire interview on the podcast, and I got to watch the game from the press box.
All in all it was a very good experience that I really enjoyed. I hope to get to do it again soon and I hope that you enjoyed hearing about it.
