Joey Gallo made his first start for the Texas Rangers tonight due to the unfortunate injury sustained by Adrian Beltre, and Gallo took advantage of it. His first major league at bat came in the first inning with the bases loaded, and he came through with a two RBI single. So how could young Joey Gallo top that? How about a 2 run, 418 foot home run! He followed that up with a double and a walk. It is way to early to call Gallo a hall of famer, but tonight he has at least showed Rangers fans why he is so highly touted.
Joey Gallo is a talent that does not come along every day, and I for one am glad that Rangers fans are getting a chance to get to know him so soon. Joey Gallo is not going to be that good every night obviously, and Adrian Beltre is still one of the greatest third baseman of all time, but for tonight, I am going to enjoy the debut of one Joey Gallo, and you should too. The future is looking bright for the Rangers at third base, and for the next few weeks, the future is in Arlington. The Rangers are on the verge of a very special season indeed!
