Before the season, not many pundits had the Texas Rangers in the hunt for the AL West title around the All-Star break, but that’s exactly the case as the season now shifts into the month of July. They’re only five games back of the first-place Houston Astros, who are another big surprise within this 2015 campaign.
Prince Fielder is quietly having a stellar season, hitting .347 with 12 home runs and 49 RBI to lead the offense, which might get a boost with the return of Josh Hamilton off the disabled list. In a corresponding move, though, Texas had to send down prized prospect Joey Gallo, who hit .218 with five home runs and 13 RBI in his 25 games played for the club. He figures to be back at some point later on in the year, however.
After a slow 7-14 start, the Rangers responded in May and June, posting a 33-23 record over the two months combined. Looking for another strong month, below are the most and least expensive Texas Rangers tickets on the secondary market in the month of July, according to Razorgator.com.
Most Expensive: 7/17/2015 | Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers | Minute Maid Park | Average Price: $113.99 | Get-in Price: $23
7/19/2015 | Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers | Minute Maid Park | Average Price: $117.65 | Get-in Price: $21
Texas gets a chance to chip away at the Astros’ division lead during this latest installment of the Lone Star Series. The two most expensive Rangers tickets of the month are against the Astros on the road, with the game on July 19 being the highest-priced at $117.65 on average, and a get-in price of $21. Good news for Texas is that they play their best ball on the road, being 25-19 on the road compared to a 15-19 home record at Globe Life Park. The Astros play their best ball at home, though, with a 27-16 record at Minute Maid Park, while they are just 19-18 on the road. This could ultimately be a crucial series in the battle for division supremacy in the AL West.
7/30/2015 | Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees | Globe Life Park | Average Price: $108.54 | Get-in Price: $10
The Yankees are always a strong draw for any team who plays host. The Rangers welcome the Bronx Bombers to Globe Life Park towards the end of the month for the third-most expensive game of the month. The Yankees are a half-game back of the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East division and have been one of the best power-hitting teams in baseball this season. Texas also sports a good amount of power within their lineup, which could lead to a lot of runs in this one.
Least Expensive: 7/2/2015 | Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers | Oriole Park At Camden Yards | Average Price: $34 | Get-in Price: $5
The Rangers’ least expensive game of the month is surprisingly against AL East-leading Baltimore on the road at Camden Yards, which generally attracts higher prices for Orioles tickets. Texas took the first two games of this series to close out the month of June strong and will look to continue their winning ways, opposite a team that they could end up clashing with for one of the two Wild Card spots in the American League. Oriole Park has a reputation for favoring hitters, and with both clubs possessing impactful lineups, there might be more fireworks in this particular contest, especially if the first two games of this series were any indication.
