The Texas Rangers pitching was not good against the Angels over the weekend, but it was not as bad as the Rangers offense. The offense managed seven hits on Friday, five hits on Saturday, eleven hits on Sunday, and now two hits tonight. That means, that over the last four games the Texas Rangers are averaging around six hits per game, and they are averaging 2.5 runs per game. Their opponents, on the other hand are averaging just under fifteen hits per game and around 9.5 runs.
This may be one of the worst stretches of Texas Rangers offense that I can remember in a very long time, a very very long time. Six hits and two and a half runs per game? That is offensive, and just plain bad. So what happened to the team that took three our of four from the Orioles just a few days ago? I don’t know, cause if I did I would probably have a job with the Texas Rangers fixing whatever is happening. Baseball is a very strange sport where one day a team can be clicking on all cylinders, and the next week they can’t do anything right.
I kind of wish that the All-Star break was this week instead of next week with the way this team is playing right now. Nothing is working for them. I mean nothing. It is so frustrating to watch. As a long time Texas Rangers fan, I remember a huge amount horrible pitching in the early 2000’s, but at least they could hit the ball. I really wish someone knew how to fix it. The thing is, they could be good-by tomorrow. Baseball is strange that way.
