The Texas Rangers jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the Angels last night in the second inning. From that point on, they were outscored 9-1 by the currently hot Angels. A.J. Griffin started good before walking 4 out of 5 batters to start the 4th inning.
The All-Star break seems to have done nothing for a slumping offense and an even more slumping offense. The Rangers can’t seem to score and rhey can’t seem to hold a lead, but they still have the most wins in the American League. That will not last long at this rate.
Now to be honest, I don’t feel like this is the end of the season or the end of the Rangers. I still believe that they will win the West. I still believe the Angels will finish a distant fourth. I also believe that the Rangers will make a trade, and very soon. Jurickson Profar, Joey Gallo and possily a few others will be gone. Hot streaks end and so do cold streaks.
The Rangers need to have short memories as they take on the Angels again tonight. It will be Kyle Lohse second chance to try and get a win. The team has another chance to play like they are capable of playing. Hopefully the bull pen gets a chance to hold a game. It’s time to stop the free fall and get back on the winning track tonight!
