Never Ever Quit

The Texas Rangers slogan for 2016 is never ever quit. If you hashtag that on twitter, it now comes with a Texas flag at the end of it. Never ever quit is a good slogan, and the Rangers have lived by it in the 2016 season. Now it is time to see how real the slogan is.

The Rangers have been completely mis-matched in the first two games of the ALDS. Game one had Cole Hamels pitch his worst game of his post season career, and in game 2 Yu Darvish was done in by the long ball. Four of them to be exact. To be overmatched with your two aces on the mound at home is never ever good.

Is the series over? Absolutly not. Colby Lewis goes Sunday, and he is the Rangers winningest post season pitcher. The offense is due a big breakout game. The defense has to get better too. The true test to never ever quit will be Sunday night in front of a hostile crowd in Canada. The Rangers have lost all their home playoff games over the last two seasons. They won two road games in 2015, which is what they need to do again now.

Am I hopeful? Do I believe this team can embody their slogan. Absolutely. We have seen them comeback so many times it got almost expected every time they were down. And now they are really down. They won the most games in the American League for a reason, they are very good. But even the best teams don’t always win if they quit. And as we know, this team never, ever, quits. I look forward to game 3 Sunday night, and I look forward to a game 4 Monday. Because, as a Rangers fan, I have also bought in to never ever quitting!
