Do you guys think that this is a problem for all you Borbon fans? They are trying out Murphy in center field today to see how he does. So far he is looking pretty good. I think that this might spell trouble in Borbon ville. Borbon has not had too good of a defensive spring, and Murphy is. David has earned a chance to play every day, but if Borbon is not the everyday center fielder, that will make room for him to go back to AAA and work on some things and make Chris Davis a spot on the Rangers roster. I just thought that this would be something interesting for all you fans to think about. be sure to email me ben@therangerreport.com with any comments you may have and keep checking back often. Thanks.

Think Hamilton in center for 5-6 innings a game isn’t going to hurt anything. LF Murph, CF Hambone, and RF Cruz. Then in the 6-7th inning you put Borbon in center and slide Hambone over to LF. Other options are to trade Face for CF (Marlon Byrd would be nice) and some AA pitching. Example Trade of Face, 15 mil, and O’Day for Marlon Byrd and 2 AA pitchers, 1 A pitcher to help stock the system. I am OK with giving up O’Day to the Cubs b/c Tobin and Stroup seem to be close and Kirkman, Bush, Tomko, Hurley, and Scheppers seem to be ready at AAA-Round Rock.
I have to think keeping Feliz in the pen and Borbon/Murph mystery will be the biggest questions answered soon!!!!
Also will Arthur Rhodes make the team….he has been nothing but awful this spring….he is really just a lefty vs lefty pitcher now….
“So last year I was hoping and praying that when the trade deadline came around, David M would not be on that list. Though I kept telling myself he was gonna be there. However lucky for us and bad for Davids playing time he was not. I am a huge Murphy fan, he has some huge talent. One of the most impressive things is ability in the batters box after riding pine for 5 games straight! By the end of the season last year it was almost as intimidating to the other teams to see David grace the plate after gracing the bench as it was to see Jeff bagwell grace the plate in a tight situation! David is a great player and one that maybe we don’t have a spot for yet, but heck we could put him almost anywhere, and I am sure he would do just fine. So cheers to you D-Murph! I hope he does start that position over Bourbon, and we do have a spot for Davis in the line up. Though “Coke delivers to Murphy” just does not have the same ring to it!” Chad Martin
