Despite my best efforts to make it not happen with an article earlier this week, sources are saying that it looks like Beltre will be a Texas Ranger before the week is out. The deal appears to be worth around 15 million a year for 6 years or so. This would make Michael Young a DH and a utility infielder, and it would drop the Rangers out of the running for Vladimir Guerrero. I would honestly rather have Vlad back, if you wanted my opinion.
So what does this mean for the future of the Rangers? I think we will have to wait and see. I am concerned with reports that he is a hard teammate to get along with, and I am concerned with the fact that he is hit or miss on if he has a good season or not, and I am concerned with the length of the contract that I am hearing about coming from the Rangers. What do you think. Let me know here, on the Ranger Report Facebook page, or at bdieter75 on Twitter.
