Alexi Ogando. Ogando going to the rotation and Treanor being traded means room for one more pitcher on a bullpen staff that is struggling right now. So here is what I think is going to happen:
Dave Bush, Arthur Rhodes, Darren Oliver, Darren O’Day, Mason Tobin, Pedro Strop, Mark Lowe and Neftali Feliz. That is now the bullpen I see with the new developments that happened today. Agree? Disagree? let me know!! Thanks!
Chris Davis still ends up starting at Round Rock but I do not think he will be there long. He will either be traded or brought up pretty quick in my opinion. I will write more later.
I think Chris Davis should be up before Mark Lowe….
My bullpen is Tobin, Strop, Oliver, Rhodes, Feliz, O’Day, and Bush with Lowe being sent down to Round Rock. Then Chris Davis is on the roster….I can see the argument of him in RR so that he can have regular at bats and keep crips. I just think CD deserves a spot with his spring….when will he be given a real chance to get regular non-pressure at bats?
So how long do the Rangers go with a 8 man staff….how long do we have to put up with Bush in the pen….
Is the 8 man staff here to stay until Hunter is ready you think? Hunter is ready….Ogando back to the pen….or is Hunter to the pen if Ogando tearing it up? Bush kicked out now or does the Maddux-Bush bro-mance continue and Strop or Lowe down?
I feel bad for Chris Davis but with baseball especially Texas Rangers….he will be up at one point….injury to Moreland or Beltre (hopefully not)….trade Face before 10-5 rights kicks in….
I hope that Bush does well and earns a spot in the pen. I think it is going to be a while before Hunter is ready, whatever he says. Once the Rangers pitchers get into the season rhythm and we see who is pitching well and who isn’t, they will send the 8th man down and bring up more defensive help. But for now, as bad as the pen has pitched during spring training, I am okay with an 8 man pen.
