Here at the Ranger Report, we are always looking for ways to engage you, the Texas Rangers fans in fun and interesting articles. We were talking earlier this week and decided that it would be fun and hopefully engaging to go position by position and pick the greatest Texas Rangers at each position. Our stipulations are as follows:
We are starting our selection process in 1972, the year the team moved to Texas. We decided not to go back to the Washington days.
While they did not have to be a career Ranger, they had to play here for more that half a season. So Carlos Lee, Cliff Lee, Ryan Dempster (not that any of those would make the list) would not be considered in the mix.
They don’t have to hold Rangers records, but lets be honest, if they do they will probably be on the list.
We will want your feedback here, on Facebook or on Twitter to tell us what you think, and to let us know if you think we got it wrong! The whole point of doing what we do is because we love the Texas Rangers and we want to post engaging things that you all enjoy reading as much as we enjoy writing. There have been a whole log of good players that have played here, and some of the players are so easy there will be no debate. Pudge Rodriguez, Michael Young, Adrian Beltre. Other positions have a lot to chose from and will be a harder decision. Remember, we are just fans of the team so these will be for fun!
So sit back, relax, and get ready to read about the greatest Texas Rangers of all time.
