The season is now only a few weeks away. Spring training is in full swing and the Rangers are now on television a few times a week. The roster is starting to come together, the Rangers starters are beginning to get stretched out a bit. It is an exciting time to be a baseball fan for sure.
As we do every season, it is time to examine 2019 MLB Win Totals. We will start by looking at the projected totals in the American League West. The Texas Rangers are projected at 70.5 win totals, the Seattle Mariners at 74.5, the LA Angles and Oakland Athletics are projected at 83.5 win totals, and the Houston Astros (who lost some talent in the offseason) are projected at 96.5
My personal guess before the official numbers came out was at 68 wins for the Rangers, so I wasn’t too far off. I look at the way this Rangers team is coming together and I just don’t see them winning over seventy games in 2019. The rotation is decent at best, the bullpen has a chance to be decent, and we will have to wait and see if the Luis Ortiz makes a difference for the guys at the plate.
The team still has a few weeks of spring training to go before the roster is finalized, but I don’t see them getting that much better. They have shown that they are just not willing to go out and spend the money that it would take to really make this year’s team a contender.
We can all still enjoy baseball for being baseball, even if it is not going to be consistent winning baseball. So what do you think? Will the Rangers go over the projected 70.5 wins? Let me know in the comment section down below or on Facebook or Twitter.
