The Texas Rangers had an offense explosion over the weekend. Seattle won the first two games of the series, but the Rangers dominated the last two. A total of 29 runs were scored by the Rangers. They also racked up a total of 37 hits. When this offense is hot, it is nearly unstoppable. It was all highlighted by two things: the bat of Logan Forsythe and the pitching of Mike Minor and Lance Lynn. Forsythe had six hits and six RBI in the two games. Pretty impressive.
The other impressive thing was the fact that Minor, Lynn and the bullpen allowed two runs total. If the Rangers can hit and pitch like this going forward, they have a chance to really surprise some people. Minor has had two bad games, the rest have been great. Lynn seems to be getting better as the season is progressing. Can their success translate to the other starters? They say winning begets winning. If that is the case, this team may have a chance at something special.
I would never have had them at .500 or above at the end of April, but .500 is the worst they can be at the end of April. I am still not sold on them being any type of contender, but I do think they are better than I gave them credit for. This is a time I am more than happy to be wrong. I don’t know if they can keep it up through May, but I’ll take an April of no worse than 14-14. Do you guys have confidence that the Rangers can stay around the .500 mark?
