I took several names into consideration for this spot. Nelson Cruz. Shin-Soo Choo, Juan Gonzalez. Cruz was a great player in his time with Texas, but he will always be remembered for game 6, fair or unfair. Choo has been better than advertised when the Rangers signed him.
Juan Gonzalez was a great player. He played with the Rangers for 13 years, most of that being from 1989 to 1999. Gonzalez had a career batting average with the Rangers of .293/.342/.565. He hit over 20 home runs nine times in a Rangers uniform, had over 100 RBI six times. He had more RBI than games played from 1995-1998 (514 RBI in 511 games). He won 5 silver slugger awards and was the league MVP twice.
Gonzalez was a fan favorite during his time with the Rangers. He was a part of the first Rangers playoff runs. He was part of the reason the Rangers made the post season. He was an amazing player and he was a staple in the Rangers outfield for many years. I believe that he is the greatest Ranger to ever play right field!
