On this episode, Ben talks about how the Rangers had a very busy week the first week of December. They demoted Elvis Andrus, the last remaining piece from the two World Series teams, they non-tendered their 2019 player of the year, Danny Santana. Isiah Kiner-Falefa was named the new starting shortstop, right after winning a gold glove at third base. And, oh year, the Rangers hired a new general manager in Chris Young.
As the winter starts to heat up on the baseball market, it will be interesting to see what the Rangers do for the holes they have in the lineup. They need a third baseman. Starting pitching is a need. Designated hitter is something they need to address. This team is riddled with holes. IF you look at their depth chart you won’t really be impressed.
Rougned Odor did not exactly light it up at second in 2020, and I would not be surprised to see them address that as well during the off-season. All in all, it should be a lot of fun to watch what transpires this winter!
