Chris Halicke, Texas Rangers beat writer for Sports Illustrated’s Inside the Rangers joined Ben and CJ on this weeks podcast. Chris and the guys talk about all things Rangers as Cactus League play gets underway.
Then they discuss third base including Josh Jung and Rougned Odor. Chris tells the guys that Rougned Odor is not guaranteed a spot on the roster. If Odor cannot work out at third base and can only play second, there is no place for him.
Kohei Arehara is adjusting to the MLB ball as opposed to the Japanese ball. Chris tells the guys how Arehara has looked so far and what pitches he is still struggling with. Following that the guys talk about Isiah Kiner-Falefa and how much more confident he has seemed at shortstop. In his words, he is a shortstop, not a third baseman.
Later in the broadcast, they discussed prospects such as Anderson Tejada and where his place on the team is. Chris then tells the guys who he sees as the team leader, and who will stand out as the player to watch in the 2021 season.
