Rangers Prospects who Need to Move or be Moved

The Texas Rangers have a large sum of infielder prospects in the minors. Ryan Dorrow, Davis Wendzel, Blain Crim, Jax Biggers, Justin Foscue, Josh Smith and more. All of them play a position that is blocked at the major league level. The Rangers have two options: trade them or move them to another position.

A lot of talent resides in the infield for the Rangers, both at the Major League level and also at the Minor League level. As far as I am concerned it is a good problem to have. The Rangers could deal some or all of them (unlikely), but here is what I would do.

Wendzel has already spent time behind the dish as well as some in the outfield. The more versatile you can be the better chance you have of getting the call up. He is a good young player and will be ready sooner rather than later. Wendzel should wind up being a utility player should Isiah Kiner-Falefa get traded.

Foscue is not ready now, although he had a great 2021 in the minors. He is one that I would put on the trade market and see what the Rangers would get offered for him. He has the potential to be a frontline infielder in the majors and someone will always want that in their organization.

Dorrow is looking like one of those who may get left in AAA ball. He is almost there. I see Dorrow either getting moved to the outfield or being dealt as a secondary player in a deal with someone.

Crim is currently tearing it up at every level at the plate. When he joined the podcast, he said he would be willing to do whatever the Rangers ask of him to make it in the majors. They are going to want to find a spot for him or the roster if he continues to hit the way he is right now, trust me.

Biggers is yet another guy that has a ton of passion. He plays hard, he works hard. He is someone that the Rangers are going to find a place for either way. I personally like Biggers and think he has a high ceiling.

Now Josh Smith arrived from the Yankees in a trade, and he is really impressing the Rangers. He is a prospect that I could see moving to the outfield or anywhere else the Rangers have need. A smart and savvy baseball player is never a bad thing to have.

So that is what I believe will/can happen to these prospects. I want all of them to work out, but in the real world that is just not going to happen.
