SAN ANTONIO, Texas (April 15, 2022) – The Frisco RoughRiders took down the San Antonio Missions 7-3 to capture their fourth-straight win on Friday night from Nelson Wolff Stadium.
The Riders (6-1) waited until the fourth inning to jump on the board first when Blaine Crim doubled home a pair of runs to make it 2-0. Frisco has now scored first in each of its seven games this season.
In the fifth, the RoughRiders put up three more tallies to take a 5-0 lead. Kellen Strahm started the scoring with a sacrifice fly before Crim and Dustin Harris added RBI singles.
The Missions (2-5) answered back in the bottom of the sixth with a three-run home run from Brandon Dixon, but it was not enough.
Frisco added on a run in the eighth on a David Garcia RBI single and another one on Harris’s second RBI single of the night in the ninth to make it 7-3.
Cody Bradford (1-0) earned the win, allowing just two runs over his five innings (which both came across as stranded runners after he left the game) while also striking out five. Matt Waldron (0-1) took the loss, ceding five runs in his 4.2 frames.
The RoughRiders conclude their opening road trip of the season against the San Antonio Missions on Saturday, April 16th with a doubleheader at 5:05 p.m. Riders RHP Jack Leiter 0-0, 0.00) is slated to make his second start on the mound on Saturday in game one while LHP Cole Ragans (0-0, 0.00) will start in game two. Starters have not been announced for San Antonio.
