The Texas Rangers have traded prospect Ricky Vanasco to the LA Dodgers for LHP Luis Valdez. According to the Texas Rangers PR on twitter, Valdez, 19, has gone 0-2, 3.12 ERA (6 ER/17.1 IP) over 8 games/starts with Low-A Rancho Cucamonga this season, striking out 24 of 83 (28.9%) batters faced.
Vanasco has nasty stuff but just couldn’t stay healthy for the Rangers. The team designated him for assignment earlier this week. Valdez will most likely start at Down East.
