There was some talk about some comments that C.J. Wilson said about Oakland, their fans and their ballpark. Well, C.J. seemed to like the mound okay last evening where he dismantled the Oakland lineup and won the game 9-1. He pitched strong, striking out 7, but he still seems to walk too many. The Rangers bats came alive for two innings, but that was all it took last night. The Angels also won behind Santana, who is pitching out of his mind right now so the lead for the Rangers stays at 2 games for now. The only thing that bothered me about C.J’s comments was the fact that he said he would not be signing with the A’s next season, and I took that to mean he plans on signing with a different team next year. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but I think C.J. is looking for a bigger payday than the Rangers will offer him, and I do not think he will be a Rangers after this season. That would disappoint me, but I think the money a Boston, NY or LA can throw at him will make him decide to take his talents elsewhere. I will miss him if he goes, he has been a great pitcher for the Rangers, and looks to be on back to back playoff teams.
Anyway, after that tangent, lets be big Blue Jay fans today and hope they can knock off the Angels today, and lets hope the Rangers can do their jobs behind Colby Lewis and knock off the A’s and extend that 2 game lead a little bit.
